Who We Are

We’re The Smooth Company—a small business with big dreams, launched from Áine Kennedy’s attic in 2022. It all started with The Smooth Stick™, a revolutionary hair-taming wand that controls flyaways without leaving your hair hard or greasy. Since then, we’ve grown into a continuously expanding range of award-winning, innovative hair styling products, loved by celebrity hairstylists, influencers, and customers around the world.

With over 150 million organic TikTok views and customers in 60+ countries, our community has been with us every step of the way. We share everything on TikTok—from behind-the-scenes moments to product launches—because we believe our journey is better when we take you along for the ride. Your support and feedback inspire us to keep innovating and creating products that make smooth hair easier than ever.

Today, our products are bestsellers in Brown Thomas, Arnotts, 72 Peter Mark salons, and on 432 global Aer Lingus routes—but we’re just getting started. We’ve been featured in Vogue and recognized with awards like ‘Best Hair Brand’ at the Image PWC Beauty of Business Awards 2024. Our founder, Áine, was also named Image PWC Young Businesswoman of the Year 2024 and included in the Sunday Independent 30 Under 30 list.

We may be a global brand, but we’re still a small business with just four full-time staff—and we couldn’t do it without our amazing community. Your support means everything to us, and every product, every decision, and every milestone is powered by our passion to make your hair days smoother.

The Journey

It all began in Aines atttic where she launched her website and began packing orders for months 

2022 -  february

As the sales grew, we needed a larger facility than our attic so we launched into our fulfillment centre

2022 - January

We have documented our business journey on TikTok and have now reached over 150 million views with customers in over 58 countries around the world.

2022 - March

Smooth Stick offially launched into all Brown Thomas stores national wide

2022 - November

We collaborated with Thomp2socks to create the perfect pair of your Smooth Stick & Luxury fluffy socks

2023 - January

We launched our second product, the Smooth Styler 4-in-1 Professional Styling Comb, which quickly became a celebrity hairstylist favorite

2023 - May

We  launched in the UK on Europes second largest billboard

2023 - August

We won Business Growth Winner & highly commended for B2C e-commerce website of the year at the Irish E-Commerce awards 2023🥹

At The Smooth Company we are very proud of our accomplishments to date. We have most recently been awarded 'Highly Commended' in the prestigious Marie Claire UK Hair Care awards 2024. Other awards gained include the Hi-Style Beauty Award for ‘Best Beauty Buy 2023’, Guaranteed Irish accreditation, and ‘Emerging New Business 2023’ from the National Small Firms Association National Small Business Awards. The Founder

Áine Kennedy, a 25-year-old entrepreneur from Dublin, has a degree in Entrepreneurship from Maynooth University and over 6 years of experience in Brand Management and Marketing in the beauty industry. Her career began at 16, working at Boots, then Benefit Cosmetics.
Áine launched The Smooth Company, dedicated to her Nana Carmel, who always had a hair tip or trick to share. The brand focuses on making your day run more smoothly with their award winning innovstive products.
Áine’s Grandad also plays a key role in promoting the brand, joining her for engaging TikTok videos. Together, they bring a personal and family-driven touch to The Smooth Company, connecting with its growing community.
